Normal Weekly Stuff

Mom and Dad went to Park City this Friday for one of Dad’s conferences for work.  Rachel came down and spent the night with us.  We had stew for dinner, played Ticket to Ride, and ate brownies and ice cream for dessert.  After everyone was in bed, Rachel, Mark, and I watched Remember the Titans.  Rachel went to bed after the first 30 minutes, but Mark and I stayed up until 11 o’clock finishing it.  It was awesome!!

Yesterday we cut firewood and stacked it in the dog run.  We have so much, I don’t think we’re going to have to get anymore for like two years.  After we were done, just Mom and I went out for dinner at Maglebys.  It was really nice to spend some alone time with her.  After we got back, Rachel and Mark and I went to see Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters while everyone else went out for ice cream.  The movie didn’t follow the book very well, but as a movie by itself, it was fantastic.  Incase anyone sees one on Amazon, I want a Hippocampi for Christmas. :)

Have a fabulous week!!

Daddy Daughter Date

This Friday we had a daddy-daughter date, since we haven’t had one in a while.  We did it with my Uncle Scott and my cousins, Megan and Jennie.  We went golfing at Trafalga first.  Then we went to Scott’s house and had taco’s for dinner.  They were soooo good.  After we were done, we sat around and played games and told Calvin and Hobbes jokes.  Then we ate the chocolate cheesecake that I made earlier.  It was really nice just to be together.

Yesterday I did swim practice in the morning for an hour, made a Christmas countdown chain, helped Abbie clean our room, and finished an essay for English.

For school this year, I am doing high honors again.  High Honors is a 30 hour extra curricular project in a subject area of your choice.  Last year I did a visual arts project.  This year I am doing a foods project.  My Aunt Rachel is going to be helping me because she is a chef and knows just about everything about food.  Tomorrow I am going to job shadow her starting at 5 in the morning.  She is a chef at the new MTC.  I am also going to learn how to cook some basic foods, make meals for my family for a week (for practice), and make a cook book with all my favorites in it.  It’s going to be fun!

Hope you all have an awesome week!

Fall Break

Sorry it’s been so long since I posted.  I don’t feel like retracing all the things we’ve done, so I’m just going to pick up with where we are.  If you want to see what we’ve been doing before this, check out my Mom’s blog.

Ahh, Fall Break has been soooooo nice.  On Thursday we cleaned up the basement and I had a sleepover with Rachel and Becca to help them get ready for their Harry Potter party.

On Friday we bottled a ton of pears.DSC_0012

Mark and I went to Rachel’s Harry Potter party that night.  Someone *Mark* brought the camera and didn’t take any pictures, but Rachel has some, so I’ll have to get them from her.  The party was soooo fun.  She cooked all day and we had a start of term feast to start off the party.  I had chicken, french fries, jello, mashed potatoes, a roll, apple pie, chocolate truffles, lots of jelly beans, and chocolate frogs.  DSC_0007

It had the wizard card and a frog made of chocolate in it….. just like in the books!!  Then we had a trivia game-which I totally rocked- and then talked the rest of the time.  It was way awesome.

On Saturday we took a drive in the mountains.  The leaves were so pretty.DSC_0019

We had a picnic up there, and then Mom, Dad, and Neil went to go get birthday pictures while the rest of us went to Rachel’s apartment and watched a movie.  That night Abbie and I made masquerade masks and did makeovers.  It was fun.

Hope you all have an excellent week !!

Spring Break in Washington

The Saturday before Spring Break, we loaded in the car and set out on a 16-hour drive to Washington to visit my Dad’s Grandpa.  We drove and drove and drove some more. We had to get fast food for lunch, and let’s just say I was ready for some home made food for dinner.  And I got it!  Uncle Mark and his friend Oscar live in Oregon so we got to go to their apartment and then to the park for dinner.  We had grilled chicken, mixed veggies, and cookies for dessert.  It was delicious!  Afterwards we got to play in the park.  They had a bunch of seesaws, and Neil and Isaac thought they were so fun!DSC_0263

While we were in Washington, we got to go to the ocean.  When we went to the sandy beach, we were wading in the water when Mark found a Sunflower Starfish.  The only reason I knew what it was was because I’ve watched a Planet Earth nature show on it.  It was pink on the top and bright orange and purple on the bottom.  It was about the size of a dinner plate.  We would have taken a picture of it, but we were way out on the beach, and the sand was so muddy that our shoes got stuck sometimes, so Dad stayed up at the top of the beach with the camera.  While we were there, Mark also found a really cool crab.2013-04-01 14.54.39

We also got to go over to Seattle by ferry.  It was really fun to go out on the back deck and see all the waves it was making.DSC_0425

We also went to the rocky beach and chucked rocks in the water.  Well, the other kids did.  I still had my flip-flops in the car trunk from going to the sandy beach a few days earlier, so I put them on and went looking for shells.  Man, the ocean is cold in April!! Really cold!!  After a while your feet get numb, and then it is a whole lot easier.DSC_0442

Fresh crab.  Delicious!DSC_0441

Along with going to the beach and riding on the ferry, we also got to go to the temple and have an Easter egg hunt with Uncle Paul and Aunt Chris’s family.  It was so much fun!  I’m glad we got to go.

Have a great week, I’ll post again next Sunday.

Me and Memin Mouse

Don’t ask, I’ll just tell you.

Memin began when Neil didn’t want to get in his car seat.  I can still remember my cousin Karina’s friend Brown Mouse, and figured I give it a shot.  I asked him if he wanted to hold a mouse, and he could if he got in his car seat.  He promptly hopped in.  I told him to hold out his hands, and when he did, pretended to hold out a mouse.  Figuring that this new imaginary friend would need a name, I dubbed her Memin.

Two nights ago we were reading scriptures and Neil was running all over the place squealing and playing with Spencer.  They were having so much fun that he did not want to sit down and be quiet.  I asked him if he wanted to hold Memin he had to sit down and be quiet.  He said “ I hold Lemon!” “No Neil, it’s Memin.”  “ I hold Memin!”.  He kept repeating this over and over and over and over again.  It was really funny.

I know it sounds really little kiddish, but hey, it worked!

Well, it’s official, we’re moving!

As you can probably already tell by the title, we are moving.  We found the perfect house down in Springville.  It has three levels, an upstairs, a main floor, and a downstairs.

Upstairs there are four medium sized bedrooms, a game closet, a bathroom, and a master bedroom.

On the main floor there is a living room, a dining room, a computer room, the kitchen, a laundry room, a bathroom, and a door to the garage.

In the downstairs, there is a bathroom, a guest bedroom, a big family room, a small kitchen, and a ping pong table (the current owners are leaving it there).  There is also a big backyard with a bunch of fruit tree’s.

The couple we are buying it from had six kids, but they all moved out, so they are building a new house down on their property by the river bottoms.  The husband works down at BYU teaching Horticulture, so that means he knows a ton about plants and bugs.

They have an apple tree that he has grafted four different types of branches into, so there are five different types of apples on one tree!  There are also 12 different types of grapes on the back fence, so it is a very private back yard.

We are closing on May 24, and will be moving out a few days later.  We will not be selling our current house, but will be renting it out instead.  We are all way excited.  I will post pictures as soon as we move in.

Welcome Baby Isaac!!

On Thursday, March 29, I got a new baby brother.  His name is Isaac Wade!  Mom and Dad decided on the way to the hospital that they liked that better than Sterling.  Mark woke up when Mom and Dad were leaving, but he didn’t wake me up until 6:30.  I was about to tell him to go away, that I didn’t have to wake up until my alarm went off, but then he said that Mom was at the hospital having the baby, and I woke up.  All through breakfast I was wondering whether it was a boy or a girl, and if they would call me at school.  I was ready for school at about 7:20.

I walked outside, and the weather was beautiful.  The flowers were just starting to bloom, and the first of the bleeding hearts were out, as if the would was welcoming my new sibling.  I think it was.

I went to Vickie’s house to ask if I could have a ride to school.  When she opened the door, she looked a bit surprised to see me.  I told her that my mom was at the hospital having the baby, and could I please hitch a ride with you?  She said of course, and was excited for me.  I will not forget to mention that I was a bit hyper, so I was bouncing around her house, and she told me to calm down.

School was a drag.  I told all my friends, and they were excited too.  They didn’t call me at school, so I had to wait till the bell rang so I could go to grandma’s house.  I called Dad, and he said it was a little boy named Isaac.  The other kids arrived about 30 seconds later, and then we all pilled into the car along with Neil (he had spent the day at grandma’s house) and went to see the new baby.

When we got there, I got to hold the baby right after Grandma.  He was so warm and light.  It’s so weird to think that three days ago he was one of the spirits in heaven.

He is 7lbs 9oz, and 19.5 inches long.  He was born at 11:01!  I got some pictures of him at the hospital, and he is so stinking cute!  Here are some pictures of him.
